This year I spent my 27th birthday in Venice. With no particular recipe (yet!) below are just some of my favourite food highlights…
I was so lucky to celebrate the wedding of two great friends from my ski season. In true Sophie and Russell style, they threw the most insane party and I was left feeling rather worse for wear on Sunday. I made my way back to London nursing my head and concentrating on the one thing that would make me feel better…creamy tomato pasta with a full fat coke.
I made far too much pasta and not enough sauce when I made Jools’ pregnant pasta earlier this week. Not one for waste – I decided to make this inexpensive supper… Pasta frittata. What’s not to love? Eggs, cheese and delicious pasta. Yes please. It’s a bit like a Spanish omelette, but the potato is substituted with pasta instead.
Jools Oliver eats this when pregnant…I can totally understand why. I found myself craving this dish after a very grey and drizzly Monday following a full on weekend. I can see this becoming a regular in the winter, to be enjoyed on Sunday nights with the forthcoming season of Downton.
Feed a cold they say… Foxy’s carbonara is the perfect comfort food for when you aren’t feeling 100 and only pasta will do. It also works well as an easy dinner party recipe you can whip up last minute for friends.
This is my perfect post pilates Monday night supper. Combining homemade pesto with a dollop of creme fraiche and some cooked prawns makes this recipe feel a bit more indulgent, and with my new Kenwood (I honestly am obsessed) this is such a quick and simple supper you would be mad to ever buy the ready-made stuff again.
I know it’s not particularly on trend to eat carbs of a Monday evening, but I have such a stinking cold at the moment and just really felt like easy comfort food. This pasta number is named after my sister’s godfather who made this for Dad once and has since been a family favourite.
